Job description

myDevices is seeking an agile WordPress Developer at the intermediate level who will be responsible for working alongside our Digital Design Manager as a pivotal piece of our WordPress-based initiatives. Along with working on both the back-end and front-end development, you’ll be tasked with creating WordPress themes provided by our Design team and creating plugins, allowing for a fully customized experience. Fluency in the necessary programming languages and associated libraries (PHP, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, and JavaScript) is a must. You must possess the ability to hit the ground running, work extremely quickly, adhere to strict deadlines with minimal supervision and possess a strong understanding of industry standards and trends. You will be developing alongside our Digital Design Manager, therefore experience with Git, Github or a similar revisioning system is a plus.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute the creation of websites with necessary programming languages and associated libraries, including PHP, HTML5, CSS3, Sass, and JavaScript Build user interfaces for WordPress-centric projects
  • Development of responsive websites
  • Execute CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
  • Convert designed layouts into functioning WordPress pages
  • Interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
  • Find innovative solutions to common problems, strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders
  • Work efficiently to keep up with extremely fast-paced environment

 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of design (web & graphic)
  • WordPress e-commerce experience is a must
  • Front-end and back-end WordPress knowledge is a must
  • Strong understanding of PHP back-end development 
  • Adobe Creative Suite expert level 
  • Experience with Sketch
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git/GitHub
  • Working knowledge and experience with NPM, NodeJS, Grunt and/or Gulp (or similar build process)
  • WooCommerce experience is a major plus
  • Able to manage multiple projects efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Able to execute design projects from concept to completion 
  • Able to work well in an extremely fast-paced environment and adhere to strict deadlines
  • Local to the Los Angeles area, and available to work in our Burbank, California office
